Spectators that came to Ďolíček in large numbers despite the persistent rain were treated to an entertaining spectacle that must have satisfied even the most demanding of fans. Both teams had something to prove - Jakubčovice wanted to show that their position at the top of standings was not a fluke and Bohemians wanted to show that they can play even, and hopefully outplay, even the best second division team.
Kangaroos, as usual, started the game by putting pressure on the opposing team. The visiting team handled itself well under pressure, with experienced players like Baránek, Krohmer and Prohaszka setting the tone. Hosts from Morava showed their teeth in the 31.minute when they went ahead on a precisely placed free kick. Nevertheless, Bohemians kept on pressing. Fans were upset after two hand balls in a short span in Jakubčovice’s penalty area were not called by a very weak referee.
The game picture did not change after a half time break. Bohemka was pressing while Jakubčovice threatened with quick counter-attacks. Finally, the hard work of Bohemians players paid off in the 50.minute when Slezák scored his first goal of the season from close after a nice set up by Dian and Kulvajt. There were other chances, but Sňozík left twice all alone facing Jakubčovice’s forwards showed his value to his team by making sensational saves. At the other end, the newcomer Matůš (on a loan until the year’s end) made a beautiful pass to Slezák who could not pull the trigger. And shortly afterwards, it was Matůš again, this time choosing a shot that bounced off of the post and rolled along the goal line back in the field.
Besides the thrilling game, spectators also witnessed a bit of an oddity when substituting Jakubčovice’s Brazilian player Guiducci got himself ejected after spending only seven minutes on the field. He received the first yellow card almost immediately after stepping on the pitch for unsportsmanlike conduct, followed by the second one for a dangerous tackle.
