French club with a long lasting tradition has a new Czech coach Ivan Hasek. His assistent is also a former czech player Karel Jarolim. First football club in Strassbourg was named Neudorf and was founded in the begining of 20th century. After the first world war is this club re-named to Racing Club de Strassbourg. In the year 1926 RCS wins "Alsasky Cup" and in 1934 they get for the first time promoted to the first division. In their first season they finish second and also in tho folowing years keep their position in the upper part of the league table until 1952 when they get religated.In the season 1978/1979 Racing won for the first, and until now also last, time Frech league, except this they also won three times the Football Association Cup (1951, 1966, 2001) and twice the League Cup (1964, 1997). Some of the famous players who played for Strassbourg are Arsene, Wenger, Alex Mostovoj, Frank LeBoeuf. In the season 2000/2001 RCS finished on 16th place and got religated. On the other hand they won the Football Association Cup so next season we will see them in the UEFA Cup. The best player of todays´team is a goalkeeper Jose-Luis Chilavert of Paraguay.
