Bohemians won 2:0
The spring finally came also to Varnsdorf. Their first home match this calendar year was against Bohemians. Radek Sňozík was still unavailable to play and Martin Kolář appeared in the starting lineup after 11 years.Jiří Havránek took Sňozík’s spot and had enough work since the start of the match. The dangerous cross was sent to Rudnytský but his shot was well wide.
It was hard for Bohemians to get into the game in such cold weather and first 20 minutes were toothless and most of the attacking was made by the home team. But then, next 10 minutes of the match decided who will take the points.
It was 23rd minute when Jan Moravec got the ball, used his agility skills, went to the box passed 3 players and sent a pass to Štochl who scored into the empty net.
Bohemians scored again just seconds later but the goal was disallowed. It was Šmíd who scored, the referee allowed the goal but then changed his mind and whistled the foul by Šmíd on the home keeper.
Then it was David Bartek in 30th minute who led the offense through the middle of the pitch. He had an option to pass the ball either to Štochl or Kolář. He chose Kolář, who went one on one on keeper, wanted to pass it back in front of the goal and one of the defenders hit the ball. It was an own goal and the score changed to 2:0 for the away team.
The coach of the home team made two substitutions for the second half. The festival of great chances for the home team started 10 minutes after the second half kickoff.
Bohemians’ defense and Havránek didn’t make any bigger mistake and didn’t let Varnsdorf to score.
Jiří Havránek showed some acrobatic moves and saved many shots, especially shots by Kotiš and Volf.
David Bartek had a chance to score. He had an opened goal in front of him but missed the target.
Varnsdorf kept the pressure and remained dangerous especially after free kicks. Havránek kept the clean sheet with number of great saves.
Last minutes were in hands of the home team, they used all the remaining energy to attack. Schubert went alone on the goal and Růžička stopped him at the last second, then it was Rudnytský who also have not succeeded against Havránek. Bohemians won 2:0 and gained points to deepen the difference at the top of the table.
