On Tuesday July 16, 2002 our third opponent on our French pre-season tour will be Le Havre. This team from north-west France just got promoted to the first French Division after being two years only in the second league.
To get back to the first Division was not very hard for le Havre. Althought thay tied in the first four games of the season, they did really well in the rest of the year and ended fourth, last to get promoted. At home they lost only one game and one of their players was also a goalkeeper Alexander Vencel (Slovak Republic).
Le Havre is the oldest team on France and was founded already 130 years ago.In the history they once won the Frnch Cup, twice the second league and their best year in the first Division was in 1949/50 when they finished 3rd.
For Bohemians is not Le Havre unfamiliar because they played a pre-season game also last summer and thanks to goals from martin Horak and Pavel Kulig FCBP won 2:1.
