Clear Day: Bohemians – Teplice 2:3 (1:1)

On a rain soaked night in Vrsovice Bohemians Prague succumbed to the breakaway talents of Teplice. The away team began brightly, in fact, very brightly. Before most people had even taken their seats, Zelenka had breached the Bohemians goal. The wet pitch again was proving to be a problem for the home team, Teplice dominating the early exchanges. However, after 7 minutes had passed the men in green began to find their feet, literally! Melecky getting an effort on target, even if it was into the hands of Postulka. Teplice again threatened with Horvarth, who shot wide from 18 metres, but from then on it seemed to be all Bohemians. A second consecutive corner was deflected to Obermajer who licked a post from 5 meters out, and when Sirl threatened to attack again, the referee became a 13^th defender for Teplice, bodychecking the unfortunate Sirl. This crowned a terrible performance from the men in black, with the home support voicing their opinion throughout. Bohemians domination of possession finally paid off when Hartig cleverly headed the ball to Sirl, who finished exquisitely over the advancing Postulka. Again Bohemians pressed forward, only for Szabo to be denied from 16 meters, Postulka again saving well.

The home side began the second half exactly how they finished the first and Balaz's header was pushed over the bar by the impressive Postulka. On 67 minutes Bohemians got the break they deserved, Obermajer (see picture) headed a corner through the legs of a falling keeper. Then Bohemians luck changed, when Tesarik converted a deflected ball into the home net, followed in quick succession by Zelenka's breakaway goal, the forward steering Kolomaznik's centre past Contofolsky. Sustained pressure from Bohemians couldn't bring the equalising goal, and another win just slipped from our hands.
