Valuable draw! FC Bohemians-SK Slavia 1:1

Sunday didn't bring the win Bohemians so badly needed, but the Kangaroos can be contented with a draw against probably the best team in the league at the moment. Almost 9,000 fans were packed into the stadium to see a game of contrasting halves. Before the match began the pitch was subject to an inspection from the referee, who deemed it fit for play though his hesitation caused a 20 minute delay.

Slavia had the better of the first half and kept Holec busy in the
Bohemian's goal. A series of shots from Dosek being the main problem.
It wasn't long before the away side opened the scoring, Skacel netting
Bejbl's rebounded shot after a sloppy mistake from Holec.
It took the Kangaroos until the 40th minute to create their first chance,
Kisel crossing for Obajdin to head weakly at Cerny.
Muller's fine shot from 23 meters out was blocked by Holec, ending the first
half action.
In the second 45 minutes Bohemians really came alive, pinning Slavia back
for most of the half.
Their reward came 10 minutes before the end, Bednar heading the home team in
front from Trasak's corner immediatley after a penalty appeal was turned
down.
The goal was number 2500 in Bohemians long history and gave them a well
deserved draw!
