The new manager first arrived on Friday 30th July, the day before the embarrassing defeat in Cesky Brod, and furthermore after the failure of new summer reinforcements to arrive. They were not registered. It was not for Marek Vit an altogether happy entrance to his role as club boss. On Monday, the new chief read negative responses from fans about himself, so he decided to give his first longer personal interview to the Bohemians web site. "Fans wrote that I'll be the last president of the Bohemians, because I will bring them to ruin. This is definitely not the case. With me at the helm it can't possibly get any worse than it is now. I want to bring Bohemians a plus," he insists, the same as three predecessors of this position in the last year.
Why did you join the Bohemians?
"My friend Tomas Bohm (through the company Bohemians Football, owner of the club - editor) asked me whether I could help him. Two months ago he bought the football club Bohemians and somehow needed to determine its development. He gave me here the general authority and as leader of the club I act as a substitute owner. Our predecessors definitely did not do a bad job. I thanked Mr. Vejsadovi, he did great work and has an open door to the Bohemians. But I needed a fresh start."
The debts to Pardubice should have been sorted out by last week already, so that the summer reinforcements could have been registered. It didnt happen. How long will Uhrin the trainer wait?
"After starting my new role, I immediately got in touch with the Pardubice officials. On Tuesday I have a meeting with them. We are prepared to settle everything on Thursday , so that we can go against Usti with the strongest line-up."
From the new season, The Bohemians are supposed to play home matches at Strahov. Previous management presented this as a done deal. How do you see it?
"I want to play in Dolicek! If for example Jihlava can play at home, then I can't see why the Vrsovice stadium can't meet second league parameters."
So we're playing against Most at Vrsovice?
"I can't promise that. We will do everything to make it happen. I will sort it out with Jan Obst. We know each other very well; I don't think that he will help me out of familiarity, but within the bounds of football regulations we will try to do something in that direction. If we dont make it in time for the first home match, we'll try it for the next one."
