Another ownership change looming?

When Mr. Vejsada, former managing director of Bohemians Prague, declared after the game with Most that the current owners don’t care about the club and that the only solution is an ownership change, one would not find too many fans who would disagree with him. However, unlike most ordinary fans, Mr. Vejsada is in a position to do something about this change. And judging from his statement, he will.

When he first arrived on the scene about a year ago he received generally hostile reception from fans.  No wonder, they had been tired of previous ownership/management groups that managed to do only one thing – siphon whatever property and money was left in the club into their own wallets.  Years of mismanagement taught fans to be skeptical about any newcomers with grandiose plans.  Mr. Vejsada, former world class wrestler, was different though. A no nonsense manager, with the best interest of the club at heart, he won over a majority of skeptical fans with his hard work and results - Bohemians missed the promotion to the first league last season only by a whisker.

Mr. Vejsada’s trouble was not with the fans, it was with the club’s owner Mr. Böhm.  Not the one to mince words, Mr. Vejsada must have upset Mr. Böhm whenever in his customary straightforward style criticized the club’s ownership for its lack of support, both from financial and administrative standpoint.  No wonder that Mr Vit replaced Mr. Vejsada at the beginning of the new season.  Mr. Vit’s appointment was hard to stomach for everybody, though.  Mr. Vit is an ex-con who is more known for his current affair with a TV personality Mrs.Cejka, former wife of PGA golfer Alex Cejka than for his management skills.  He is also notorious for a trail of broken promises that he leaves behind wherever he goes.

On his arrival to the club, Mr. Vit promised to settle within days an administrative problem that prevented registration of new players that came to Bohemians during the latest transfer period.  The problem is still not settled to this day and Dusan Uhrin, jr., the team’s coach had been forced to use juniors in the last two second league matches just to field eleven players.  One of the newcomers, frustrated with registration delays, has left the team already and joined another one.  Others are said to be close to follow.

The club had been through some tough times but never through anything like this.  That’s why Mr. Vejsada along with his close colleague and friend Mr. Krizek are the only hope of Bohemians at the moment.  Ordinary fans would breathe a sigh of relief if these two managed to wrestle (no pun intended) the club ownership from Mr. Böhm.

That would be the best outcome for the football club Bohemians in its current situation. Unless, of course, Mr. Abramovich steps in.
