On Sunday, Bohemians suffered a loss on the field. They suffered a much bigger blow on Monday off the field when it was announced that their coach, Dusan Uhrin jr., is leaving the team. <br/> The first league club of Mladá Boleslav, that is languishing at the bottom of standings, decided to fire its coaches and set its sights on Uhrin as a replacement. Uhrin asked the management of Bohemians for a permission to leave and the management, in recognition of his outstanding service to the club, did not want to stand in his way and granted the permission.
On the whole, Dusan Uhrin jr. has done excellent job with the team devastated by the departure of the most marketable players. In particular, his work with young players was exemplary. The team will miss him. We wish him good luck in his new position and hope that one day he might return to the club that is close to his heart.
His assistant, Vladimir Hruska, former Bohemians striker, was appointed an interim coach of Bohemians. The coaching situation will be reevaluated after the end of the autumn season.
Uhrin’s contract with Bohemians was to expire in June 2005. The club did not receive any compensation for his early release from his contractual obligation from Mladá Boleslav. Actually, the club did not ask for any compensation, supposedly so as not to jeopardize Uhrin’s chances of getting a new job. Nice gesture. If you can afford it, that is.
