Lesák was ejected from the game early in the second half after a verbal confrontation with a referee. He is unlikely to dress for the remaining two games of the autumn season, depending on the verdict of the disciplinary committee. As a mitigating circumstance, the committee should take into account Lesák’s deteriorating eyesight as he apparently mistook the referee for female genitalia and addressed him that way.
A few days ago, the Czech daily Idnes published an article claiming that Bohemians are negotiating with the first league Opava about a merger of the two clubs. The article claimed that if the planned merger goes through, all Bohemians debts would be transferred to already heavily indebted Opava. Opava would then declare bankruptcy and Bohemians would play the first league instead of Opava.
One can imagine the enthusiasm of Opava fans about this arrangement. While Bohemians fans would not mind it, it’s difficult to see how it would work. When you add nothing to nothing, it still adds up to nothing. Perhaps when Mongolian math is used, anything is possible. (Our apologies to all Bohemians fans in Mongolia. Sorry, Genghis).
