Hi, my name is Steve from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA and I've been following Bohemians Prague off and on for over ten years now and I often checkout your great website.<br /> I spent about four months in Prague back in 1991 teaching English briefly and enjoying the great atmosphere and new freedom of the city, not to mention the great beer, but I never did get to any football matches. I went back for a visit in 1994 with my girlfriend at the time and dragged her around with me to see most of the Prague teams play (maybe that's why she's not my girlfriend any more), Sparta, Slavia, Viktoria Žižkov and finally Bohemians which was the best match of all. I can't remember who they played but Bohemians won and the little stadium Dolicek was fantastic...
Since then I try to keep up with the fortunes of Bohemians through the magic of the internet and I am devastated by the recent problems the team is going through. I also lived in Brighton, England for a time and follow Brighton and Hove Albion and by chance they've also been through a tough times in recent years. Greedy owners sold their ground out from under them and they're still playing in a temporary stadium. I hope that my becoming a fan has nothing to do with Bohemians and Brighton's bad luck! (My top team is Ajax Amsterdam, where I lived for several years.)
As I said, the English version of your website is fantastic, better in my opinion than most top European club's English websites. Keep up the great work and good luck to Bohemians, let's hope they can get through this trouble and get back to the top.
I will definitely make a Bohemians match part of my next long overdue visit to Prague. If you're ever in Chapel Hill you can check out our University of North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team (where Michael Jordan came from). We don't have much football (or soccer as we call it here) in the US but the University of North Carolina does have a great women's team (Mia Hamm) and our national team did pretty well in Korea/Japan.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Steve, Chapel Hill, NC
(sorry if this message rambles on a bit, I'm just finishing up my job before the holiday break and I can't wait to get out of here!)
