Having a fifth owner within a year period is nothing to brag about but many Bohemians fans sighed a sigh of relief when the club’s sale was announced today. To everyone’s surprise, the heavily indebted club was not sold to the Ukrainian owned, Swiss registered UB Corporation, but rather to a group of Czech companies whose identity is still unknown. Mr. Krizek and Mr.Vejsada are going to continue their management duties even under the new ownership regime.
And the selling price? One Czech crown. However, the new owners are said to have already deposited 10 million Czech crowns in the Bohemians account. Another 20 million Czech crowns are to be deposited in the same account by the end of this month.
The identity of the new owners is supposed to be revealed before the first Tipsport Cup game this Sunday, when Bohemians face the first division Jablonec, at 1:30 p.m., in Xaverov. To get there, take Metro (or underground, or subway) to the stop Černý Most and take one of several public transit buses going to Xaverov.
Other Bohemians games to be played in Xaverov are:
Sunday January 16 at 12:30 p.m. Bohemians - Příbram
Saturday January 22 at 10:15 a.m. Bohemians – Mladá Boleslav
These games were in jeopardy as Bohemians players, who have not been paid since October, were contemplating some action that might have included work stoppages. Although players have not been paid yet, it is reasonable to assume that they will not strike. It is expected that the new owners will settle this issue quickly and preparations for the upcoming spring season can now begin in all seriousness.
