The company AFK Vrsovice was formed for the purpose of saving FC Bohemians Prague. In recent days the company presented their plan of action to the Football Association of the Czech Republic (CMFS). On Thursday, April 7th, CMFS gave their support to AFK Vrsovice and their project.
The people in leadership of AFK have been supporters of Bohemians for years. They love the football club and cannot stand to watch it go down the drain. It is a paradox that Bohemians, this year celebrating their 100th anniversary, are basically on the verge of extinction. Anyway, Mr. Emil Buric is the only member of the board of directors at AFK. He had this to say: “In cooperation with the supporters [of Bohemians] we want to save the club. Previously, we’ve have not had any serious football involvement.” Jiri Dientsbier, the vice-chairman of the board of directors for DFB (Bohemians Fan’s Team), is also a member of AFK’s control commission.
AFK’s project is still in the beginning stages, but the results are already visible. One of the most important steps is signing an agreement with Vladimir Huml (bankruptcy receiver) about the transfer of membership rights and duties in relation to CMFS, and about the transfer of historic holdings, which has a symbolic significance to FC Bohemians Prague. AFK is looking to see what can be done about multi-million crown football debts as well as the fine to CMFS (3 mil. for not finishing the season). They welcome the help odf DFB in these dealings. “Inability to solve the debt situation as well as the fine amount can spoil the entire project. We are asking all creditors to lower or cancel their debt requirement, for only that can save Bohemians,” stated Emil Buric. AFK is also making an effort to re-establish cooperation with Bohemians Jr. Teams, who keep on going despite this difficult situation.
