A weekend breakthrough: 2 million crowns

What a great weekend it was for the Bohemians Fan’s Team (DFB). Saturday’s benefit concert packed with music stars and Sunday’s football match jam-packed with Czech football legends raised nearly 100,000 crowns. And beyond that, it sure stirred up a whole lot of passion and desire to see Bohemians back in football action. The DFB raised 2,100,000 crowns so far and consists of 792 members. The numbers in both areas keep climbing as more fans join and donate.

The word spread even overseas and a glance upon the member list reveals names from Venezuela, Australia, United States, England, Germany, Austria, and of course the neighboring Slovakia. This unique and perhaps never before seen effort of fans is drawing attention of the media both in and out of the Czech Republic. A giant media group IMG/TWI spent the weekend with DFB to document some of the progress. And though the momentum is high and the growth steady, the DFB is asking all fans of Bohemians to keep on keeping on. There is still a long way to go and much help and finances are still necessary. The DFB and AFK Vrsovice are working hard with different creditors and football teams in an effort to lower or completely eliminate all outstanding debt. Let’s hope the success we’ve seen so far will remain in the next days and weeks ahead.
