Former outstanding defender and midfielder of Bohemians Prague, Marek Nikl, has not forgotten his roots and joined the DFB movement. Marek contributed 20.000 CZK while his wife, Petra Niklová, chipped in with another 10.000 CZK. After four seasons and 87 games in the Bohemians jersey, Marek moved seven years ago to budesliga’s FC Nürnberg where he is still today. Thanks, Marek!
Slavia Prague is a club that has been struggling both on and off the field. However, it did not prevent Slavia’s fans and management from helping their former rival and neighbour from Vršovice (a district of Prague where both Slavia and Bohemians used to play their home games). All admission fees from fans that purchase their tickets for the South stands of Strahov stadium for Slavia’s match against Teplice this Monday will go towards the Bohemians Supporters’ Trust.
The DFB boys continue in their difficult task of settling claims against Bohemians Prague. They are offering creditors three different settlement scenarios, the largest one being 10% of the original amount (the bankruptcy proceeds are estimated to bring in only 5% of the total amount owed). Out of approximately forty claims, a majority of them have been settled. There are seven remaining claims. Four are by the players’ agent and former Bohemians player Pavel Vandas and his three clients. Since Mr. Vandas is not sympathetic to the DFB movement, his actions were more or less anticipated. More puzzling is an attitude of the former Bohemians coach Vladimír Hruška and former players František Hanus and Pavel Kulig, who insist on getting paid in full. This would not only be unfair to other creditors who settled for far less or even abandoned their claims altogether, but it could also jeopardize the success of the whole salvaging operation. Let’s hope that they all come to their senses and don’t scuttle all the hard work that went into the “Save Bohemians” action.
