Building a brand new team

After one hundred years of existence, FC Bohemians Prague is starting over from ground zero. The club is saved, football in Bohemians will go on, but the obvious question is…where is the team? Who will play for us? The man to give you the answer is the new Bohemians coach Zbynek Busta. He has been given the responsibility to put together a new team. His desire is to acquire five experienced players and fill the rest of the team with young players. Someone said that Michal Petrous, a recent Bohemians star, might be back. But no specific names are available at this point. The coach wants to do this in a respectable way, “not announcing big names that won’t end up working out.”

Dealings with players are on its way, the first names will be known perhaps as early as this week. We are likely to see the come back of several ex-Bohemians. Busta is optimistic about recruiting as he received positive feedback from those he spoke with so far.

The deadline for a complete team is June 27th, that’s when summer preparations begin. One of the challenges Busta sees is for this brand new team to get used to each other, play tight, as a well coordinated team. After one week, the team will leave for a concentrated training camp. The goal is to be ready by the beginning of the season on August 7th. Busta’s desire is to honor the fans for their faithfulness to Bohemians by presenting a 100% all-out performance during their games. Busta is known for a tough physical training and seems to be the right man to train up a team that truly gives their all.

We have much to look forward to. Check back often, we will be informing you of new developments as they become available.
