Bohemians 1905 - Hradec Králové B 2:0 (1:0)

Despite its lowly standing, Hradec B was an opponent whose defense was difficult to crack open. The fans that were spoiled by previous brilliant performances of Kangaroos and came to expect another rout must have been a bit disappointed by this game.

Bohemka started the game very well.  Crisp passes and good movement of the players with and without the ball created some openings in Hradec defense.  However, all these openings were wasted.  Until the 25th minute of the game that is.  At that moment Strnad’s great pass found Dian who was in full speed and home free.  Dian did not show any hesitation - 1:0 for Bohemka.  Strnad had a great first half.  The shot from his free kick in the 31st minute shook the crossbar of Hradec’ goal.

As usual, the second half was different.  Bohemka did not play as well as in the first half of the game.  Hradec took over and threatened to score, mainly from free and corner kicks.  The decisive moment of the game occurred in the 70th minute.  Hradec’ free kick was executed fabulously, but even more impressive was Kolář’s save.

The final stage of the game was a nervous affair, both for Bohemka’s players and their fans.  Slezák finally ended all nail biting by scoring an insurance goal with only three minutes left.

Coach Busta appreciated the performance of his team after the game, stating that it is easy to win when the team is at the top of its game but that it’s more difficult to win when not everything is working well.
