Ouch! What was supposed to be an easy rehearsal for the most important game of the autumn season (this Sunday at 2 p.m. in Ďolíček against the the third league leading team, Prachatice) turned out to be an embarrassment for the players and a nightmare for the fans. It is hard to find positive aspects in the game that was deservedly won by the team from Břevnov that, at least on the paper, should be inferior to Bohemka. And the margin of victory could have been even higher!
The playing field was bumpy and rather small, but these conditions were the same for both teams. Coach Busta determined that a passing game could not be played on this field and instructed his players to play long high balls instead. Apparently, nobody has told him that Bohemka’s strikers are rather small and can be easily outplayed in the air. Even after it became obvious that the set tactic was not going to work, players continued executing the futile game plan until the bitter end.
An early goal by their Prague rival from Břevnov knocked the stuffing out of Bohemka. Our players failed to develop any sustained pressure. One can hardly speak of the ball possession; there was none.
This was easily the worst game Bohemka had put on display this season. However, we know that the team is capable of much better performances, so let’s hope that it will prove it this Sunday against Prachatice.
