Decision overturned

The Appeal Committee of the Czech Football Association heard an appeal by Náchod-Deštná against the forfeit victory by Bohemians 1905.  The committee consequently overturned the previous decision of the Technical Committee and decided that a new game is to be played instead.  The original game in Náchod ended after 67 minutes when referees deemed it dangerous to continue due to a continuous fighting among hooligans in the stands.  The repeat game will be played in the spring.  The date has not yet been set.

The decision to play a new game is a curious one.  It flies in the face of UEFA’s decision in the case of the last year Champions League game Inter Milan - AC Milan and the Appeal Committee’s own decision in the case of the first division game Bohemians - Sparta a few years ago.

Bohemka thus lost three points in the standings.  Let’s hope that his is just a temporary setback.
