As the autumn season is winding down, Bohemka has tested some new players in a series of preparation games. Fans had the first opportunity to see some of them in action during the game in Benešov, where Bohemka met on the artificial turf the fourth division team from Sezimovo Ústí. The end result 4:2 for Bohemka was not as important as the performance of potential enforcements - goalkeeper Zahálka and forward Kříž. Also under close scrutiny were two Bohemka juniors - midfielders Bartek, who scored one goal, and Ivan Hašek jr., the son of the well known former national team player. Apparently, Hašek is a chip off the old block. The Bohemka management informed the fans that both juniors have joined the senior team to get valuable experience, but will return in the spring to their junior team to finish the season there.
The next Bohemka’s appearance happened closer to home. Bohemka participated in the indoor football tournament that took place in the sport centre of Slavia Praha in Vršovice. Despite winning two games out of three, Bohemka ended fifth overall among six participants. Bohemka first defeated in its group the second division Ústí nad Labem 4:3 before losing to the first division selects 2:6. In the game played for the fifth place, Bohemka managed to beat Slavia 6:4. A few more players were introduced during the tournament - midfielders Vágner from Jablonec, and Buldra from Blšany. Players took the participation in the tournament seriously, as evidenced by the red card received by Bohamka’s Tomáš Kuchař while sitting on the bench. It was supposedly for something unflattering he said about the referee’s appearance or ancestry, or both.
The last game this year was played in Kladno. Bohemka faced the fourth division Kladno B. The match was played on artificial turf in weather better suited for dog sled racing than football. It was miserably cold and windy during the game and a blizzard did not help either. Bohemka lost 1:2, Ivan Hašek jr. scored the only goal. One of the Kladno goals that Zahálka let in was directly from the corner kick.
Players will now relax a bit before starting preparation for the spring season. Bohemka will again take part in the winter tournament called Tipsport Cup. Bohemka will face in the group teams Viktoria Žižkov, Marila Příbram and Slavia Praha. All the games will be played on the artificial turf in Vršovice’s Eden sport complex.
