Tipsport Cup: Bohemians 1905 - Viktoria Žižkov 0:1

Finally, the football is back!  The first game of the Tipsport Cup 2006 was played before a large crowd of Bohemians fans.  Viktoria fans either failed to show up or there are not any. The Tipsport Cup games are supposed to spice up otherwise dull physical preparation for the spring season.  These games also serve as a test for potential reinforcements.  Bohemka introduced three such players - Buldra (from Blšany) and Kotyza and Vágner (both from Jablonec).

The game itself was a typical game played after a long layoff.  A lot of effort, but choppy play.  Bohemka was the better team, especially in the first half, but cashing in on the opportunities was a problem.  While the second division Viktoria was toothless in the first half, it threatened with fast counter attacks in the second half.  One of them ended up with a goal and it proved to be the only goal of the game.

Bohemka left immediately after the game for a week of physical conditioning in the country.  The team will return to Prague for another Tipsport Cup game against the first division Příbram.  This game is scheduled for Sunday, January 15 at 11 a.m.  The game will be played again on the artificial turf in Eden.
