After a postponed game against Slavia B, even this game was in jeopardy. It materialized thanks only to the enthusiasm of all those who helped clearing the snow from the field. Bohemka wanted to decide the game against the young reserve team of Jablonec early, fearing that the gradual deterioration of the field would favour less technically equipped guests. This game plan could not have been executed any better. Strnad, the best player of the game, made sure that the game did not stay scoreless for more than two minutes. He penetrated Jablonec’ defense on the right flank and his pass to Slezák was misdirected into the net by one of the Jablonec players.
The second goal was a thing of beauty. Kotyza sidestepped one of the defending players and passed a high ball to Strnad whose scissor kick ended up in the net. This was most likely the most beautiful goal that spectators have seen this season in Ďolíček.
Although the difficult field conditions were draining players’ energy, Bohemka continued pressing its opponent. It did not allow Jablonec to entertain any thoughts of comeback. In the end, it was again Strnad who finished off Jablonec by scoring the third goal from a free kick.
Bohemka’s next game will be against Karlovy Vary/Dvory. This game will be played on Sunday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. in Drahovice, the suburb of Karlovy Vary. It will be the first time in Bohemka’s history that the team will play a league game on an artificial turf.
