First, this game was not finished on September 18, 2005 due to the fighting of fans in the stands. Then it was forfeited in favour of Bohemians. Then the decision was overturned and a new game was ordered to be played. Then the repeat game was postponed because the field was in an unsuitable condition for the game. And now this.
It is difficult to get unbiased information about the game since as a part of the punishment for riots during the original game, the repeat game was ordered to be played behind closed doors. So just the facts - Bohemka hit a post twice, but at the same time, was lucky on many occasions when the home forwards created openings in Bohemka defense corps.
The final result is a serious blow to Bohemka’s promotion ambitions. Since only one team from the Czech third division will be promoted and Bohemka is losing 9 points on the leading team, Prachatice, it will be an uphill battle to make up for the lost points. All is not lost; yet. There are still plenty of games to be played; however, players have to show better effort than they have shown so far.
This defeat was followed up by the club’s announcement that coach Busta will take over as the coach of Bohemians youth team. This will be in addition to his duties with the senior team.
The youth team has been trying for years to get promoted to the highest level of competition for youngsters. They were in a good position to achieve this goal at the end of the autumn season, but the first four games of 2006 resulted in only 5 points gain. Coach Busta used to coach the youth team before he was given reins of the senior team; he is familiar with all the players. It remains to be seen, however, how he will manage to coach two teams at the same time.
