A well deserved victory by Bohemka - that’s how the home team coach Habanec described his impressions of the game and the first Kangaroo victory away from home this spring. It was an extra sweet feeling for coach Busta (Bohemians) who in his double duty also led the youth team of Bohemians to a victory (3:0) in an important game in Blšany during the week.
As with other reserve teams, Teplice fielded many players from their “A” team which made this opponent the best team Bohemians had played so far this spring season. Coach Busta made two important changes in the lineup for this game - veterans Freisler and Rosický stayed on the bench with youngsters Pávek and Bartek taking their place.
Bohemka delivered a solid performance, as if players finally realized that only hard work can bring a success. They outworked and outplayed Teplice for most of the game. Although there was only one goal scored in the game, it was well worth seeing. Dian’s free kick from about 20 m hit the wall, however, the ball bounced back to Dian who fired an awesome volley in the upper corner of the net. Dian also had a great opportunity to add an insurance goal, but Kolář in Teplice goal made a fantastic save on Dian’s penalty shot in the 82nd minute of the game.
After very promising results in preparation games during the off season, Kangaroos did not seem to be able to hit their stride in the first few games of the spring season. Postponements of many games did not help to establish the game rhythm, either. The latest game that was postponed was the Wednesday’s game in Strakonice; apparently the field was flooded
Let’s hope that the victory in Teplice will help the team’s self-confidence. They can put their improved performance on display already this Wednesday, April 19. They will face the reserve team of Slavia (Slavia B) on Strahov at 5 p.m. The original game was postponed due to a huge snowfall.
