The game against Strakonice was the last third division postponed game yet to be played. All the teams have now played 30 games and with four games left to be played Bohemka is fourth in the standings, five points behind the first and second team.<br /> In comparison, Strakonice is the team that is hopelessly second last in the standings and will be demoted at the season’s end. So, on the paper it should have been an easy victory for Bohemka.
Well, football is not an exact science. If scoring chances were anything to go by, Bohemka would have won something like 9:1. However, the sad reality is that Bohemka almost lost a well deserved victory in the dying minutes of the game. Converting even the most glorious scoring chances was a huge problem for all Bohemians players.
Bohemians took control of the game shortly after the game’s start. However, the game stayed scoreless until the 41st minute when Strnad scored on a rebound after Slezák attempted to sidestep a goalie.
The second half brought one scoring chance of Bohemians after another, but again, without a scoring effect. And with the game slowly coming to the end it struck out of blue at the other end. Bohemka turned on the jets and managed to wrestle the victory back when substituting Kulvajt scored the winning goal with only 2 minutes left in the game. This game was definitely not suitable for fans with cardiac problems!
Bohemians will play their next game away from home this Sunday, May 28 against the reserve team of Hradec Králové. The game starts at 10:15 a.m.
