Prachatice - Bohemians 1905 3:3 (1:2)

This was the first game after it was announced that Bohemka traded up its position to the second division.&nbsp; While defense corps performed reasonably well in previous matches, this match revealed defensive flaws that will have to be eliminated before the next season starts.<br /> Bohemka started the game actively and it did not take too long before Kulvajt headed in the first goal after a nice cross from R&#367;&#382;i&#269;ka.&nbsp; Prachatice managed to tie the score, but then Ivan Ha&scaron;ek took the centre stage.&nbsp; First, he decided for a solo effort that started in the centre of the field and ended up in the Prachatice goal - 2:1 for Bohemka.&nbsp; When Prachatice equalized the score again, Ha&scaron;ek took a shot from long range and sent Bohemka in the lead one more time.&nbsp; Unfortunately, a defensive mistake allowed Prachatice to score one more time with only a few minutes left.

A vast majority of Bohemka fans approved the management decision to purchase a professional license that will allow Bohemka to play in the second division next season.  This game confirmed that this was the right decision.  Bohemka has quite a few youngsters that are knocking on the first team’s door.  It would be a tremendous loss if one of the first division or second division teams would sign them to a professional contract and Bohemka would only be entitled to a maximum compensation of 450.000 Czech crowns from a first division team or 350.000 Czech crowns from a second division team (1 Euro = 28,5 Czech crowns).  It is almost certain that home grown players like Bartek, Hašek, Růžička, and others will benefit from a further growth in the Bohemka system, and when they outgrow Bohemka, the club will be at least able to negotiate a decent compensation package for them.

It is particularly true about one youngster, Ivan Hašek jr.  After his father, Ivan Hašek sr. (currently the head coach of the French first division team St.Etienne), watched the game Bohemians - Břevnov, he apparently gave his son some pointed comments about his performance (although, to be fair, the whole team performed lousy in this game).  Ivan jr. took his comments to heart and he was the best player on the field in Prachatice, hands down.  His outstanding performances did not go unnoticed - it has been revealed that there is a strong chance that Ivan Hašek jr. may be nominated to the under 19 Czech national team.
