Bohemka was one of very few (if not the only one) professional teams that did not have a reserve team. Years ago, one of the previous owner groups made a foolish decision to cancel the farm team in order to save money.<br /> Bohemka has paid for this decision dearly ever since. Promising hopefuls coming out of the youth teams who needed some time to fully develop did not get that opportunity in the Bohemka organization. Many of them left to pursue their careers elsewhere. All the substitutes or players coming back after an injury had no place to improve or regain their playing instincts.
Even though the new Bohemians management promised to do something about this eternal problem, nobody expected an early resolution of this issue. However, the purchase of the second league license from Xaverov changed all that in one fell swoop. By purchasing the second division license, Bohemka was still left with the third division license. The management thought it an unnecessary luxury for the reserve team to play the third league. In their words, the fourth league would be better suited for a team whose first team is playing the second league. So the management swapped the third division license with the fourth division team from Cheb.
As a result of all these moves, Bohemians will have for the first time in many years their reserve team. The B-team, as it is also called, will start the 2006/2007 season in the group B of the fourth league. The team will play its home games either on the youth team field (Lokomotiva Vršovice) or in Ďolíček.
We heard that there are fans who will want to see both A, B and youth team games. Good luck in their marriages.
