Bohemians 1905 - Hlučín 0:0 (0:0)

Outstanding attendance, average game and sub-par referee performance, that’s the summary of the first second division game of the 2006/2007 season in Ďolíček.
The attendance was the largest weekend attendance of any football game in the Czech Republic. Vacation time and steady rain could not keep the real fans away.
The game itself was nothing to write home about. Neither team scored a goal and there was a good reason for it - defense corps of both teams dominated a fairly dull game.

The only spice in the mix was thrown in by the first Czech female referee that reached the first division level. This was not a good day for Ms. Damková, who is otherwise well liked in Ďolíček. She crowned her lousy performance in the 65. minute, when one of the visiting players fell to the ground and wriggled in pain after a shoulder-to-shoulder contact with Bohemka’s Slezák Since she obviously did not see the contact being made, she lend an ear to the players of the opposing team and showed the red card to Kulvajt. Astonished Kuvajt, who was nowhere near the incident, protested his innocence. Ms. Damková then showed the red card to Slezák, which caused a consternation of all the fans who quite rightly assumed both players were ejected. When the smoke cleared, only Slezák was asked to leave the game for supposedly elbowing the Hlučín player. Slezák was consequently suspended by a disciplinary committee for two games, despite him not having been given a red card for the last ten years.
Fans had the first opportunity to appreciate the new electronic display board that is capable of displaying players’ likeness as well as promote the team’s sponsors. Also, two new viewing stands are being built in Ďolíček, one opposite the main seating section and one behind the goal close to the streetcar stop. Obviously, the management did not sit idle during the dog days of summer.
An announcement was made that Karol Dobiaš, the former Bohemka star (67 starts for the Czechoslovak national team) was appointed as the chief scout of Bohemians 1905. Good luck in your new duties, Karol!
