FK Baník Sokolov - Bohemians 1905 1:2 (1:2)

Four wins in a row, how about that? Even the most rabid of Bohemians’ fans did not expect this turn of events.
Just a few weeks ago, Bohemka was hovering almost at the bottom of the standings and desperate fans were calling for coach Busta’s resignation. Life seems to be much more enjoyable these days, both for coach Busta and for the fans too.
Sokolov was in the fifth place of the standings before the game against Bohemka. Bohemians presented an attractive opponent and that combined with a pleasant weather attracted a record attendance to the Sokolov’s stadium.

The game itself started very well for Kangaroos. Already in the fifth minute of the game, Kulvajt was set up for a shot into the open net - 1:0 for Bohemka. Sokolov immediately pinned Bohemians to their goal. First they hit only a cross bar, but shortly afterwards they scored an equalizer by Gába who sent the ball in the net from 16 yards out.
Both teams were producing quite an attractive brand of football with scoring chances at both ends. Bohemians gained a lead in the 30.minute of the game when Sokolov’s goalie had no other choice but foul P.Hašek in the penalty area. To everyone’s surprise, it was Bohemians goalie Sňozík who executed the penalty kick faultlessly.
For the remainder of the game the picture had not changed - Sokolov continued pressing and Bohemians kept on playing defensively, taking every opportunity to threaten on quick breakaways. Bohemians defense corps struggled a bit against a few giant Sokolov players who ruled in the air. At one end Sokolov managed to hit a post of Sňozík’s goal, at the other end Bohemians had a few chances after some quick breakaways. However, despite an effort by both teams, the score remained unchanged until the end of the game.
This was a valuable victory for Bohemians, who will face very difficult opponents in their last two games this season. First, they will welcome HFK Olomouc in Ďolíček (Sunday, November 5 at 2 p.m.). HFK Olomouc is currently in the second place of the overall standings. All Kangaroos fans are encouraged to bring their friends and family members to this game as Bohemka will attempt to break the attendance record per game in the second league this season. The following week Kangaroos will play away from home against Viktoria Žižkov, currently the leading team of the second league.
