The first game of the year 2007, the first victory. This was the third Vyšehrad Cup match for Bohemians; they are currently in the second place in their group with two victories and one loss Both teams utilized players from their reserve teams for this match. Good attendance had a chance to see in Bohemians jersey in the first half a newcomer Vladimír Bálek. Bálek (25 yrs.), who is coming on a loan from Slavia Prague, should replace veteran forward Radek Divecký who is supposedly looking for a new contract abroad.
Bohemians had more scoring chances in the first half, but it was Plzeň that went ahead. The former Kangaroo Aleš Bednář was fouled in the penalty box and converted an ensuing penalty shot. Bohemka tied on a header by Pavel Hašek after an accurate pass by Kotyza.
Both coaches made several changes going into the second half. Bohemka increased its pressure, but it was again Plzeň that scored first when Bahleda deflected it in after a rebound. What followed afterwards was a green-and-white blizzard. First Kocourek tied the score after another outstanding pass by Kotyza. Then Kocourek did it all by himself - he eluded all defensemen, walked around the goalkeeper and scored into an empty net. The last goal of the game was scored by the best player on the field Kotyza.
Following the game, Bohemians players left for a conditioning training camp. Fans will be able to see them in action again on January 13 and 14 in Sazka Arena competing in The Weekend of Champions indoor football tournament. All the matches will be shown in Europe and Asia on the Eurosport TV channel.
