Bohemians looked tired in the first half of the game. Slovácko was a slightly better team, but even their players were not exactly impressive. However, they scored the only goal of the first half by Zeher. Going into the second half, coach Busta changed the line-up quite a bit. And the changes seemed to work. Bohemka started pressing and the improved performance resulted in the tying goal scored by Růžička after a pass by Marek.
When neither team managed to score the decisive goal, penalty shoot-out followed. Usually reliable executer, Bohemians goalie Sňozík, failed to score on the first penalty shot. Then Pávek hit the post and that was it, because all Slovácko players converted their penalty shots.
With the exception of Sparta and Ostrava, all first division teams participated in the Tipsport Cup this winter. That’s why the second place in this prestigious winter tournament is another feather in the cap for Bohemka.
