It was 1:0 after 39 seconds and it was 2:0 after 8 minutes of the game. Given the impotency of Bohemians strikers (8 scored goals in 15 games) it would have been wise to turn off the lights right there. Luckily, Teplice did not need to prove anything and the game slowly flowed to its end. Teplice started the game without their star striker, Fenin, but you would not be able to tell. The rocket start assured the home team of three points in short order. One wonders - what did the tactical preparation of Bohemians before the game look like?
Bohemians fans deserve the admiration, though. Approximately six hundred of them spent their time and money to travel to Teplice and witness this fiasco and yet they cheered on their team until the bitter end.
The result of this game means that Teplice solidified their hold on second place of the Gambrinus League while Bohemians continue to be cellar dwellers. Let’s hope that winter break will bring some changes that will rejuvenate this team.
Mercifully, Bohemians will play the last 2007 first league game this coming Sunday, December 9, against Slovan Liberec. The game will be played in Ďolíček and starts at 1:30 pm.
