Bohemians took an important step towards their promotion to the first league by defeating the second team in the standings, Čáslav. With 7 rounds left and an 8 point gap between Bohemians and their closest opponents, things are looking up.
The first half of the match did not give any indication that Bohemians were the team heading to the first league. Bohemians were nervous, and with the exception of the first 15 minutes it was Čáslav that looked better. Bohemians’ player Dian who is on a loan to Čáslav threatened to score on more than one occasion from his ever dangerous free kicks.
It was a different Bohemians team that took to the field in the second half. Right from the get-go Kangaroos pinned their opponent in the penalty box and did not let go until they scored two goals. More opportunities followed, but as if the boys were not hungry any more, the score remained unchanged. Both goals can be seen here: high (768kbps) or low (256 kbps). By the way, Marek Nikl scored his first goal for Bohemians since his return to the green-and-whites from Bundesliga’s 1.FC Nuremberg 18 months ago.
Kangaroos will play their next game home again in the friendly confines of Ďolíček on Sunday, April 26. They will face the hopelessly last team in the standings, Fulnek. The game starts at the traditional 5pm.
